E’ li lungo il cornicione del Municipio la lucertola, il geco! Soltanto con la guida scoprirete dov’è collocato il motivo-firma dell’architetto del Palazzo, Giovanni Vermexio soprannominato u lucertuluni in dialetto locale, cioè il lucertolone per la sua somiglianza, ma in posizione eretta dell’architetto!

"Every cat is a work of art" - so said Leonardo da Vinci - and Dionisio was just that.

Kitten of one of the many "archeo-cats" from the colony of cats (alas not looked after in quite the same way as their famous Roman ancestors) of the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, Dionisio grew up mild and cautious, preferring his territory of the Ear of Dionysos. He was a star attraction for tourists and became by far the most photographed cat of Siracusa. But as he got older and bolder he ventured nearer to the main gate of the Archaeological park, until the tragedy happened: he was run over by a car in August 2013. Still in mourning for him, the tour guides of Siracusa continue to recount the story of "Dionisio the archeo-cat".
